Welcome to my website! I am Abby Cohen, a beadmaker living in the
Pacific Northwest. My one of a kind beads reflect my love of color,
texture and design, as well as the beautiful natural landscape in which
I live. I come to beadmaking from a background in painting, drawing,
sculpture and costume design. Because I have worked in many media, I
bring varied experience to glass, which is my true artistic passion!
Each of my beads is made, one at a time, by me in my studio. I work
primarily with Italian Effetre and Vetrofond glass, as well as Gaffer
Glass, Reichenbach, Kugler, CIM and others. I often add pure silver in
leaf, foil or wire form to my beads. Some of the beads are fumed with
pure silver, and some contain 22K gold leaf. I love to see the
reactions between the glasses and various metals. Each bead is
something of a surprise and cannot be duplicated. Enjoy!
